Crystal Reports Viewer Activex

Hi Kix32, Based on your description, this could be a compatibility issue. Please add the site of crystal report into IE compatibility view to have a try. Fix site display problems with Compatibility View In addition, I found a same issue for your reference, it indicates that there is a possibility this ActiveX control is not working well when running IE 11 on 64-bit mode.

This OP fix it by forcing IE running in 32-bit mode. Please check it for detailed information. NOTE: This response contains a reference to a third party World Wide Web site. Microsoft is providing this information as a convenience to you.

Can't seem to find sample code or even reference docs for how to use the Crystal activeX Report Viewer control 11.5 from VB within access. From earlier. Crystal Report Viewer Control 11.5 I have Crystal 2008 but I need to be able to use the Crystal Report Viewer when viewing reports through a website. I have the activex in my AddOn Manager but when I view the files in my Downloaded files folder the viewer control is not there.

We have been successfully using Crystal Reports XI R2 (Developer Ed.) SP 6 on Windows 7 Pro 32-bit and 64-bit. We are just now starting to roll out Windows 7 Pro (32-bit) to the masses and they use Crystal Report Viewer XI R2.

But we are have problems getting the Crystal reports to print. We can export them to Acrobat and then print them but that is not ideal. We also use a third party 'printer' (PrintBoss) that doesn't work properly when sending from Crystal. PrintBoss support claims it really is a Crystal issue. Has anyone been able to get Crystal Reports Viewer to work with Window 7 Pro? We use an ERP/CRM system called Vantage (by Epicor) and this uses Crystal Reports for all kinds of things.

When users with Windows 7 Professional tried to view a report generated using Crystal, the report would display inside a Vantage window for less than a second, then crash. This behaviour didn't happen on Windows Vista, it only started on Windows 7. The solution to this for us was to install and run 'Crystal Reports XI R2.net 1.1 runtime' which we got from the Epicor website. PM me if you'd like a link to this to try. Any success/fail correlation with PCL vs PS drivers? And, what is the name of the viewer dll(s) in use and their revision date?

It seems like printing is simpler everywhere in the galaxy, outside of CRW. In versions  8.5, I would agree, CRW printing does seem to have become more complex. Since we are about to begin deployments of new Win7 machines for ERP users, the hope is that won't translate into 'more difficult'. Let me know on the questions above and I will report back on what I can find out.

I just spent two days solving running CR XI R2 from.Net 1.1 on Windows 7. What I did was to find the CR XI R2 Service Pack 6 Fix Pack 4 merge modules and used those in my msi. The only place I found where you can download Service Pack 6 and its merge modules is: You have to log in first to do this.

Reports

Log in here: To obtain a login ID, I believe you have to be a registered owner of Crystal Reports (I am). The hard part is that the area with the merge modules, etc, is apparently not available in Google search results so I had to find someone who alluded to it to know it was there. I promised to report back. Our current ERP system and a homegrown standalone VBA app have been using the V10 viewer for nearly two years now.

So far 8 machines have been deployed with Win 7 Pro. All print using the viewer successfully w/o any extraordinary measures, but I did note that all five of the printers involved (four sites) are either network MFPs or have PCL drivers installed locally. We have the option to move to our CRW XI Dev (Full) Version, so if you solve this please check in and let us know! PM me if you'd like a link to this to try. We've been using Epicor's Vantage 8.03 for quite a while now and we've just started to begin the upgrade process to Windows 7 machines. I was one of the 'lucky' few who received a new machine and every time I go to run a report within Vantage, it crashes and I have to close the program. I read that you were using Crystal Reports XI R2.net 1.1 runtime and I'd like the link to try it out.

Thanks, Grant. Hello, I've also been looking for a fix to my Crystal Reports Viewer plug in problem with Win 7. Most of our users are receiving 'IE experienced a problem and had to close' when pressing the printer button within the CR plugin. If they export (to pdf) it works fine. Simply displaying the printer dialog box crashes IE8. We have a few (2 users) where this does not happen.

They are all running Win7 + IE8 and regular users with no elevated privileges. We use WSUS to patch so the machines are at the same patch level. Hopefully someone else has run across this issue and has a fix.
